How I got into the whole "make money online" thing
About 6 years ago, in 2009, I googled for "make money online" for the first time. I spent a lot of time on forums like warriorforum.com and other, smiliar website. It wasn't long until I got full information overload. All the new words, all the scammers, all the spammers and salesvideos and salesletters made me drop the topic again. I didn't know where to start, I didnt know what it all meant. PPV? PPC? SEO? Adsense? Clickbank? Affiliate? List building? Everyone on the forums was talking about a different method to get rich, turns out they all just wanted to sell a course or something, so who could I trust?
I lost my motivation and went on with my life.
Few years later a friend of mine also talked about that stuff, and made me look into it again. At the time I started reading a lot again, and finally decided to take action.
Creating my first website
I kept reading on forums that it's important to just start somewhere, to take action, stay persistent and don't give up. So that's what I did. I didn't have a credit card, so I couldn't afford hosting and a domain. I went with a free domain (.tk) and some free hosting. The website was slow, the domain was shitty, and it looked shitty. I singed up for some affiliate programs (chose some products on clickbank to promote). I wrote some articles about these products and put them on my "website". Then I started commenting on other blogs. I googled for "make money online" and went to all the sites that showed up, I registered and left a comment: "hey nice post, bla bla, please check out my website, it has some good info about making money". I didn't track my visitors with google analytics, I didn't know about SEO and I didn't get much traffic. But one day, I logged into clickbank and saw, I MADE A SALE! It was around 50$, and meant the world to me. The first sale is the best sale.
The downfall and the 3rd start
That one sale, turned out to be the only sale. No traffic, I didn't post new content, and I couldn't withdraw those 50$, so over the months, clickbank took a few dollars every month, because I wasn't active. Until I was back down to 0$. I wasn't promoting my site, and my motivation was once again gone. But I learned a lot while doing all that. Setting up a website, promoting it, getting a sale, etc. I knew, maybe one day I would give it another shot!
And so, after a few months of doing nothing, I started reading again, on warriorforum and other forums, and invested some money to get my own domain and host. That's where Proven-onlineincome came to life.
I created the page and posted lots of articles, connected Google analytics, webmaster tools, etc.
Traffic did not come and I let the whole thing slide again, for around 6 months.
That's when a friend and me decided to start some projects again. We created websites and joined some products. When I checked my analytics account, I realized I was getting a few visitors every day from google! I even made a few sales! What a motivation boost!
Since then, I'm constantly improving on SEO, to get more visitors. The visitors are comming, I'm building a list and I'm running around 6 other niche sites with a friend of mine.
The dreamjob is almost here
I'm still fascinated with the whole internet marketing business, more and more from day to day. Profits motivate to move on and push harder. Some days can be frustrating, and some of the work is boring. But there's always something new, and that's what I love. The internet is constantly changing.I quit my job and I hope to increase my earnings and learn more every day.
When I read it's hard, and I should stay away from it if im not dedicated, I always thought "yeah yeah...". But looking back, It wasn't easy! But it was fun, and I love checking statistics of my websites, I love checking my daily sales, I love putting out a new article and watching the reaction, I love tracking my SearchEngine Rankings, I love looking for new niches and keywords, I would not trade my job for any other job in the world (ok maybe for some jobs ;) )
If you are just starting out in Internet Marketing, I wish you all the best, and may you be more dedicated than I once was. Remember, take action! Making money online is possible, but take care of all the scams and aggressive sales letters, they mostly don't hold what they promise. Good Luck
